About Moran Transportation

Moran Transportation has a rich history that began in March 1980 when Mike Moran purchased the assets of a small, struggling cartage company called UVS Motor Freight in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. With just 5 old trucks and a dedicated team of 5 drivers and office staff, the company provided local cartage within a 30-mile radius of the Chicago commercial market.

By June 1985, Moran Transportation had tripled in size and purchased their first new trucks—two brand-new 1985 Ford C8000 straight trucks. This marked a significant milestone, as the company was renamed Moran Transportation Corporation, complete with new green trucks featuring a Leprechaun logo.

Over the past 40 years, Moran has grown from a local cartage company into one of the top regional LTL, LCL, and Air Freight cartage companies. Today, they operate seven service centers across Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Missouri, and Minnesota, with their Midwest sort center located in Elk Grove Village, Illinois.
